Thriving in Law School

Law school can be an especially daunting place for LGBTQ+ students because it often presents both academic and personal challenges in environments that may not always feel fully inclusive. The competitive and high-pressure nature of legal education can intensify feelings of isolation, especially if students do not see many openly LGBTQ+ peers or mentors. Some may worry about bias, discrimination, or how their identity will be perceived in class discussions, internships, or future legal careers. Additionally, navigating topics such as constitutional rights, discrimination law, or family law can feel deeply personal and emotionally taxing. That’s why the National LGBTQ+ Bar is here to support you! The links below, and throughout this student website, are designed to provide resources, community, and tools LGBTQ+ law students can lean on throughout their time on campus.
Remember that every challenge you face is helping you grow into a stronger, more confident advocate. Surround yourself with supportive peers, seek guidance from mentors, and stay true to the values that brought you to law school in the first place!
